Recently, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) has made continuous progress in both its capital operations and new energy business expansion. On one hand, the company launched an A-share buyback plan ranging from RMB 20 billion to RMB 40 billion; on the other hand, its subsidiary established a new energy company in Chongqing, with operations spanning fields such as solar power generation.
First Repurchase of A-Shares
On September 11, CATL announced that it executed its initial repurchase of 604,300 A-shares via centralized bidding on the same day. This transaction represents 0.0131% of the company's current total share capital, with a peak transaction price of RMB 331.61 per share and a lowest price of RMB 330.15 per share, for a total transaction amount of approximately RMB 200 million.
Prior to this, CATL had deliberated and approved the share buyback plan, intending to allocate no less than RMB 20 billion and no more than RMB 40 billion to repurchase company A-shares. The repurchased shares will be canceled to reduce the company's registered capital. The buyback period is set for 12 months from the date the plan was approved by the shareholders' meeting.
Establishment of a New Energy Company
On September 9, Chongqing Runpei New Energy Co., Ltd. was established. Registered in Nan'an District, Chongqing, the company has a registered capital of RMB 5.14 million, with Dai Wei serving as its legal representative.
The new company's business scope encompasses research and development of emerging energy technologies, technical services for solar power generation, heat production and supply, and contract energy management, among other areas.
Equity tracing data from Qichacha indicates that Chongqing Runpei New Energy Co., Ltd. is indirectly wholly owned by CATL.
