Trina Solar CEO Attends World Economic Forum in Tianjin as a Mentor

Trina Solar Limited (NYSE: TSL) ("Trina Solar" or the "Company"), a leading integrated manufacturer of solar photovoltaic products from the production of ingots, wafers and cells to the assembly of PV modules, has announced that Jifan Gao, Trina Solar Chairman and CEO, attended the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2012 (the "Meeting") as a Mentor.  

During a series of sessions, Mr. Jifan Gao, alongside key industry leaders, explored the influence of new business models, industries and technologies in the context of sustainable growth. As part of the 'Free Trade, Open Collaboration and Fair Competition' session, Mr. Gao elaborated on current developments in the Photovoltaic industry and commented, "We should work together with open minds to achieve sustainable development and create new growth engines for the currently challenging global economy."

Mr. Gao also shared his insights and opinions during other key panel sessions, which covered 'Exploring New Frontiers of Growth', 'Setting Course for Smart Growth', 'Chinese Globalizers - Connecting through Corporate Global Citizenship' and 'Chinese Globalizers - Emerging Trends Brainstorming Session'.

Having participated in the World Economic Forum since 2010, Mr. Gao furthered his engagement by becoming a Mentor at this year's Meeting. Through this role, Mr. Gao helped to shape the outcomes by participating in a formal plenary session and by leading an exclusive discussion on an essential leadership topic with several CEOs of rapidly growing global companies.

Eight Mentors were selected for the Meeting. Together with Mr. Jifan Gao, the seven other Mentors are: Susan Hockfield, President Emerita and Professor of Neuroscience, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT); Jeffrey Joerres, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, ManpowerGroup; Paul Polman, Chief Executive Officer, Unilever; Feike Sijbesma, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Managing Board, Royal DSM; Christopher A. Viehbacher, Chief Executive Officer, Sanofi; Xiong Weiping, President, Aluminium Corporation of China; Xu Heyi, Chairman, Beijing Automotive Group.

Held between September 11-13, 2012, the Annual Meeting of the New Champions, which is commonly referred to as the 'Summer Davos', is the foremost global business gathering in Asia and reflects the "spirit of Davos", which for more than four decades has meant openness, collegiality and frank, yet friendly, exchange.
