To introduce greater standardization in China’s PV industry in terms of R&D, quality control and environmental protection, the Chinese government has revealed a series of lists of governmental-approved PV manufacturers. The newest list selects additional 52 PV firms.

In 2013, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China (MIIT) revealed the first list of 109 government-approved PV firms which were confirmed to be fitted to certain standards. Companies listed would receive supports and favorable treatment from the Chinese government. This June, MIIT further unveiled the second list of 52 additional companies.

PV Tech says that the significance of the list is that the listed companies will certainly be able to more easily access state support and tax benefits. The main purpose of creating the list is to accelerate the Chinese PV industry to develop, upgrade and innovate. Only PV companies that are conformed to certain standards include capacity, energy consumption, environmental protection, product quality and etc. can be selected in the list.
