Greensmith Launch StorageCheck™ for Energy Storage System Audit

published: 2015-07-15 16:57

In response to demand for better knowledge on energy storage systems, Greensmith launched a new energy storage system audit service to evaluate designs of energy storage systems and improve these systems’ performance. The StorageCheck™ leverages Greensmith’s technology and integrated experiences and offers specific reports for owners to manage their energy storage systems better as well as increase the system return on investment.

Greensmith is a provider of grid-scale energy storage software and integration solutions. The StorageCheck™ offers customers with knowledgeable advice on how to design high-performance energy storage systems, as well as a solution to grid-scale energy storage systems failures, including construction delays, post-commissioning performance problems and, worst of all, catastrophic failures that result in significant financial and reputational damage to owners and operators.

Many of these failures are preventable and caused by sub-optimal system design, so believes Greensmith.

"We have been brought in many times to fix, upgrade or retrofit energy storage systems that are non-operational or delivering suboptimal performance, and our new StorageCheck audit service seeks to address this problem," said Greensmith CEO, John Jung. "Just as people get a second opinion before committing to a major health decision, StorageCheck will provide energy storage system developers and owners with a second opinion on their system's design, helping them fix non-operational or poorly performing systems and improve the design of systems that are still being developed."

StorageCheck is an audit service for utilities, independent power producers, renewable energy facility operators and other energy storage system developers. People who are planning to build energy storage system, facing with a stall or delay in the development of their energy storage project, or experiencing problems or sub-optimal performance with their existing energy storage system, are also target customer of the audit service.

The StorageCheck service features a 10-point diagnostic tool that:

  • Identifies current or potential energy storage system problems.
  • Detects the root causes of these problems.
  • Recommends actions to correct these problems.

"Greensmith's StorageCheck demonstrates that the energy storage industry has matured to the point where energy storage systems are now depended on to perform mission-critical grid functions and generate revenues," said Janice Lin, Co-Founder and Executive Director, California Energy Storage Alliance (CESA).
