E.ON, a major German utility company, will team up with IBC Solar for the launch of its new “Aura” solar PV + energy storage product, according to recent reports. The company’s new all-in-one smart energy package, Aura, will feature a Solarwatt energy storage system, a smart energy management app, and a tailored electricity tariff, as well as an optional solar photovoltaic (PV) system.

The Sales Director for IBC Solar, Thomas Mart, commented on the new partnership, referring to it as “a promising collaboration.” He also noted: “This underlines the potential of photovoltaics, as well as the re-emergence of interest from consumers.”

In parallel to the partnership with IBC Solar, E.ON has also worked to create a 600-strong group of trade partners in anticipation of the launch of its Aura solar PV + energy storage product.

At the official launch of the Aura product last week, the managing director of E.ON Energie Deutschland, Robert Hienz, commented: “With a storage capacity of 4.4 kilowatt-hours, E.ON Aura can meet the entire electricity needs of a three-to four-person family during the evening and night hours.”
