Private owner of operating solar assets in the U.S., sPower has completed development of the 106.4MW Solverde 1 solar farm in Lancaster, California within simply 12 months. All the 330,000 PV modules installed were delivered by JinkoSolar.

Solverde 1, which has been started commercial operations in December 2016, is the largest solar farm owned by sPower. sPower developed Solverde 1 solar farm as a long-term partnership with California Department of Water Resources (DWR) to reduce carbon footprints through the “State Water Project.” This solar farm hence will help sPower to provide clean electricity under a reliable, expectable and competitive price.

During the 12-month development, sPower signed the power purchase agreement (PPA), completing interconnection, and building and commissioning the project. It selected JinkoSolar as the module supplier and required JinkoSolar to complete delivery within around two months in order to meet the schedule.

Under such tight deadlines, JinkoSolar successfully delivered over 330,000 high-efficiency polycrystalline PV modules to sPower.

"Being selected by industry-leading sPower as the module supplier for this unique and time-sensitive project strengthens our reputation as a highly dependable module manufacturer," commented Nigel Cockroft, General Manager of JinkoSolar (U.S.).

Josh Skogen, SVP of project development for sPower, said, “Developing a solar farm within 12 short months is a challenging feat and requires solid cooperation with experienced and capable partners, […] We were confident that Jinko would be a great partner for the Solverde project, as it has a proven track record for delivering quality modules on-time."
