The SUV coupe Taycan Cross Turismo, one of Porsche’s EV lineup, is available in Taiwan since December 23, serving as another option for Porsche fans.

As an electric sports SUV, the Taycan Cross Turismo comes with excellent performance, cutting-edge technology and the “Gravel mode”. The model is the world’s first electric sports car with basic off-roading gear, creating a whole new driving experience for its owners.

▲With a similar front to the Taycan series, the Taycan Cross Turismo features an enlarged rear luggage compartment to create a spacious interior.

Like its 4-door Taycan coupe counterparts, the Cross Turismo is powered by the automaker’s self-developed 800-volt technology. The high-tech chassis incorporated with four-wheel drive and Porsche Active Suspension Management also guarantees great stability during off-roading and rough road driving. Moreover, the model features an additional 47-mm headroom space at the back seat to give greater comfort for passengers. The large tailgate creates a load capacity of more than 1,200 liters, making the Cross Turismo an all-round crossover.

The Cross Turismo Lineup

The Taycan Cross Turismo models feature the Performance Battery Plus as standard with output power of 93.4kWh. Porsche launched two models for customers in Taiwan:

The Taycan 4 Cross Turismo features a capacity of 380PS (280kW) and that of up to 476PS (350kW) when overboost is activated with Launch Control. The vehicle can hit 100 km/h in 5.1 sec. plus a top speed of 220km/h and a WLTP range of 389–456 km.

With a capacity of 490PS (360kW) and maximum overboost power with Launch Control of 571PS (420kW), the Taycan 4S Cross Turismo is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 sec. Its top speed is 240 km with a WLTP range of 388–452 km.

In addition to the said features, the Cross Turismo models come with an optional off-road design package, which can—by adding 30mm of extra ground clearance—facilitate off-road driving in rough conditions. Further, the said standard “Gravel mode” helps optimize the stability of driving on rough roads.

The Taycan Cross Turismo’s exterior is designed based on the Mission E Cross Turismo exhibited at Geneva Motorshow 2018. The sporty roof line, what Porsche designers call “flyline”, smartly runs downward to the rear, which defines its overall contour lines. The wheel arches, front, rear fenders, and side skirts are characterized by an off-roading style. The design is also applied to the front and rear bumpers as well as mudguards under car doors, which are available in the off-road design package. The design not only creates a modern appearance but protects the vehicle from rock chips during off-roading.

The suggested retail prices of the two Cross Turismo models are as follows:

  • The Taycan 4 Cross Turismo starts at NT$4,110,000.
  • The Taycan 4S Cross Turismo starts at NT$4,900,000.
