Tongwei officially unveiled its latest TNC 2.0 module series at Intersolar Europe 2025, highlighting its dual focus on technological innovation and intelligent manufacturing. Designed for all-scenario applications, the new generation modules mark a significant step forward in efficiency evolution.
At the TNC 2.0 Global Launch Event held on-site, Tongwei Chairwoman and CEO Liu Shuqi delivered a keynote address, stating the company's belief that clean energy should serve everyone freely and equally. “Real innovation must serve both people and the planet, enabling a balance between development and sustainability.Each Tongwei module is more than a solar product. It is a living part of the energy system,” said Liu.
Full Technical Upgrade Backed by Four Core Innovations
Dr. Xing Guoqiang, Chief Technology Officer of Tongwei PV, presented the technical highlights of TNC 2.0. The new series integrates four key technologies—908 Technology (Tongwei’s 0BB Technology), Tongwei Passivation Edge(TPE), Stencil Printing, and Poly Tech—to comprehensively improve product performance:
- 908 Technology(Tongwei’s 0BB Technology) replaces traditional solder pads with silicone adhesive, reducing light-blocking area, lowering internal stress, and decreasing the risk of cell microcracks by 30%, thereby enhancing overall module reliability.
- Tongwei Passivation Edge(TPE)uses advanced passivation materials to repair laser-cut cell edges, significantly improving cell performance.
- Stencil Printingreplaces traditional screen printing with specially designed steel plates to achieve a 100% opening ratio, reducing shading by 3.3% and enhancing current collection efficiency.
- Poly Techremoves the polycrystalline layer from non-contact areas to optimize passivation-contact performance, minimize optical loss, and boost power output and bifaciality.
With these innovations, Tongwei TNC 2.0 modules deliver substantial gains in both efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The TWMNH-66HD module (G12R-66 format) achieves a 1.20% reduction in CAPEX and 1.28% reduction in LCoE compared to conventional products. The TWMNF-66HD module (G12-66 format) reduces CAPEX by 1.26% and LCoE by 1.31%. Meanwhile, Tongwei’s bifacial module has achieved a bifaciality rate of over 88%, as certified by TÜV Rheinland and CGC, outperforming standard modules by 5–10%.
TÜV Certifications Reinforce Product Excellence
During the exhibition, TÜV Rheinland presented Tongwei with the IEC TS 62994:2019 certification for lifecycle environmental and health safety, as well as the UK MCS certification, in recognition of Tongwei’s high product standards and responsible manufacturing practices.
“TNC 2.0 is a strong demonstration of Tongwei’s sustained innovation in high-performance PV technologies,” said Mr. Li Weichun, Vice President of TÜV Rheinland. “The new series delivers both technical excellence and market value.”
ESG and Sustainability at the Forefront
On May 8, Tongwei released its 2024 ESG Report and launched the Global Sustainable Partnership Program. Chairwoman Liu reaffirmed that sustainability is embedded across Tongwei’s strategy and operations:

Chief Sustainability Officer Dr. Zhu Zihan introduced Tongwei’s 3S ESG management system and long-term climate targets in a keynote speech. TÜV Rheinland also issued an AA1000 Assurance Statement to Tongwei, recognizing its disclosure transparency and global governance standards.
