On December 4th, the Wanzhi District Ecology and Environment Sub-bureau of Wuhu City, Anhui Province, published the first public notice for the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of the Wuhu 2GW GPC Mass Production Technology Upgrade Project. The project owner is Wuhu GCL Integrated New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
Overview of the Construction Project
- Project Name: Wuhu 2GW GPC Mass Production Technology Upgrade Project;
- Project Owner: Wuhu GCL Integrated New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.;
- Construction Site: Within the existing factory premises of Wuhu GCL Integrated New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., located in the Anhui Xinwu Economic Development Zone, Wanzhi District, Wuhu City, Anhui Province;
- Construction Nature: Revamp/Renovation.
It is reported that this construction project will involve a technological upgrade to the existing 2GW TOPCon production line, introducing core GPC cell process equipment, such as laser opening film technology, to enhance product quality.
Currently, the Wuhu GCL 20GW High-Efficiency Cell Manufacturing Project (Phase I: 10GW) obtained EIA approval in March 2023 and has been completed and put into operation.
The Wuhu GCL 20GW High-Efficiency Cell Manufacturing Project (Phase II: 10GW) obtained EIA approval in March 2023 but has not yet commenced construction. The Wuhu 2GW Expansion and Cell R&D Pilot Line Project obtained EIA approval in October 2024 and has been completed and put into operation.
