According to EnergyTrend, several lithium battery projects have recently achieved important progress, including the commissioning of EVE Energy's Malaysia plant, the signing of Goldwind Zero-Carbon's East China Headquarters Base project, the groundbreaking of Heyi New Energy's solid-state battery base, and the upcoming commissioning of the Xiangyang lithium iron phosphate material project. The layout of lithium battery production capacity is continuing to expand.
EVE Energy's Malaysia Lithium Battery Project Commissions
News on January 30 stated that the Phase II project of EVE Energy's Malaysia plant has recently been commissioned. It is reported that this is the first large-scale lithium battery plant project in Malaysia.
Located in Kulim, Kedah, Malaysia, the project covers a construction area of 600,000 square meters and is EVE Energy's first large-scale lithium battery plant project invested and constructed overseas. Upon completion, it mainly produces cylindrical batteries with a strong annual production capacity of 680 million cylindrical battery cells.
Goldwind Zero-Carbon's East China Headquarters Base Project Signed
On January 30, the signing ceremony for Goldwind Zero-Carbon's East China Headquarters Base project was held at the Sino-German (Changzhou) Innovation Industrial Park in Jiangsu Province.
The project is invested and constructed by Goldwind Zero-Carbon, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Goldwind Science & Technology Co., Ltd. that focuses on energy storage equipment and energy-carbon service businesses.
Situated in Jintan District, Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, the project will build an energy storage equipment production line with an annual output of 10GWh, focusing on the R&D, production and sales of energy storage batteries, prefabricated cabins and inverters.
Heyi New Energy's RMB 1 Billion Solid-State Battery Base Breaks Ground
According to Shenzhen Heyi New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., the groundbreaking ceremony for Heyi New Energy's Pujiang Smart Manufacturing Base for Solid-State Batteries was held on January 29.
With a total investment of approximately RMB 1 billion, the Pujiang base project will support Heyi New Energy in building the coordinated development of the "South China + East China" dual manufacturing bases. After the commissioning of the Pujiang base in Jinhua, Zhejiang Province, it will form an efficient capacity complementarity with the Heyuan base in Guangdong Province, focusing on serving leading customers in emerging application fields such as the low-altitude economy, robotics, smart mobility, smart wearables and AI.
Founded in 2019, Heyi New Energy is headquartered in Shenzhen with branches in Tianjin, Heyuan of Guangdong and Jinhua of Zhejiang. Its core team members come from well-known enterprises including ZTE, China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, BAK Battery and Veken Technology.
Xiangyang's RMB 2 Billion Lithium Iron Phosphate Material Project to Commission Soon
According to the Investment Promotion Bureau of Xiangyang City, Hubei Province, two production lines of Hubei Ruipai New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. in Xiangcheng District have recently been installed, and the staff is conducting pre-commissioning debugging on the lines, which are expected to be officially commissioned in March.
With a total investment of up to RMB 2 billion, the project will form an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate cathode materials. The person in charge said that the 3.5th-generation lithium iron phosphate products are currently undergoing trial production, which will see an increase of about 0.1g/cm³ in tap density compared with the 3rd-generation products, leading to a corresponding rise in battery capacity.
Founded in March 2024, Ruipai New Energy is jointly invested and established by Dongfeng Motor Group Yuechuang Technology Co., Ltd. and Guangdong Jinsheng New Energy Co., Ltd., with a shareholding ratio of 51% and 49% respectively.
