According to EnergyTrend, five enterprises including Gotion High-Tech, Sungrow, Risen Energy, Far East Battery and SAV Digital Power have made new progress in their overseas energy storage businesses. The companies have secured large-scale energy storage orders and launched new solar-storage projects across Australia, Chile, Europe and Southeast Asia.

Gotion High-Tech Undertakes 843 MWh Solar-Storage Project in Australia

On June 10, Gotion High-Tech announced the official commencement of the Lower Wonga solar-storage hybrid project in Australia, with an energy storage capacity of 281 MW / 843 MWh. It ranks among Australia’s largest DC-coupled solar-storage projects to date.

Located in Queensland, Australia, the project features a 380 MWdc photovoltaic power station paired with a 281 MW / 843 MWh energy storage system. Developed by integrated energy developer Lightsource bp, it is scheduled to connect to the grid and enter commercial operation by the end of 2028.

Gotion High-Tech will deliver a full-suite integrated solution for the large-scale solar-storage project, covering the entire process including energy storage system design, equipment supply, system integration and grid connection commissioning. The project will adopt the Qianyuan Smart Storage 5 MWh energy storage system equipped with self-developed long-cycle battery cells, supporting stable operation for up to 25 years.

Sungrow Secures 960 MWh Major Energy Storage Order in Chile

On June 4, Sungrow signed a long-term agreement with global mining giant BHP. Under the deal, solar facilities with a total capacity of 195 MW and energy storage systems of 960 MWh will be deployed at the Escondida and Spence copper mines in Chile.

The Escondida project is equipped with 110 MW of PV and a 110 MW / 540 MWh energy storage system.

The Spence project includes 85 MW of PV and an 85 MW / 420 MWh energy storage system.

The projects are set to be put into operation starting from fiscal year 2029, and the complete solar-storage systems will be directly connected to the power network of the mining areas.

Earlier on May 28, Sungrow also inked a supply agreement with Spanish independent power producer Sonnedix to provide 643.8 MWh of PowerTitan 2.0 energy storage systems for the Librillo energy storage station in Chile. Designed as a 5-hour long-duration energy storage project, the related equipment is planned for delivery and installation in Q1 2027.

Risen Energy Launches 18 Energy Storage Projects in Lithuania

Risen Energy has completed the deployment and commissioning of 18 commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage projects in Lithuania. A total of 25 units of its iCon series liquid-cooled all-in-one C&I energy storage systems have been installed, with a combined capacity of 5.56 MWh.

Implemented jointly with local partners in Lithuania, these projects serve integrated solar, energy storage and charging scenarios. To date, Risen Energy has delivered a host of solar-storage projects across European countries including the UK, Germany, Spain and Belgium.

Far East Battery Establishes Energy Storage Partnership with Päik of Estonia

During SNEC 2026, Far East Battery signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Estonian new energy firm Päik. The two parties will carry out in-depth cooperation in the Baltic region, focusing on vessel electrification, C&I energy storage and large-scale battery energy storage systems.

Under the partnership, Far East Battery grants Päik the exclusive right to cooperate on vessel, C&I and utility-scale energy storage products in Estonia, as well as the distribution rights for its battery products in Latvia and Lithuania.

SAV Digital Power’s Southeast Asian Energy Storage Project Goes Operational

On June 9, SAV Digital Power announced the official commissioning of an energy storage project for a textile factory in Southeast Asia.

The company provided a seamless and imperceptible switching solution for the energy storage system. The project has a total installed capacity of 3.3 MW / 6.6 MWh, deploying 33 intelligent energy storage units. Going forward, SAV Digital Power plans to further expand its business to industrial park-level energy storage, solar-storage microgrids and other related projects.
