CALB’s 110GWh Energy Storage Battery Project Approved
On June 10, the Tengzhou Branch of the Zaozhuang Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment approved three expansion projects for CALB Technology (Shandong) Co., Ltd. These consist of an energy storage battery project, a commercial vehicle battery project, and a commercial vehicle and energy storage battery integrated system project.
Specifically, the energy storage battery project represents a total investment of 4 billion yuan. It will feature key facilities such as an electrode workshop, a cell workshop, a performance dismantling workshop, an NMP (N-Methylpyrrolidone) purification workshop, and a boiler room. Once completed, the project will achieve an annual production capacity of 50GWh of energy storage batteries.
The commercial vehicle and energy storage battery integrated system project involves a total investment of 1 billion yuan and covers an area of 219,700 square meters. It primarily focuses on the construction of intelligent PACK production lines, container assembly lines, and supporting equipment. Upon completion, it will be capable of producing 60GWh of battery systems annually.
10GWh Sodium-Ion Battery Project Commences Construction
On June 15, Nayuan Technology’s 10GWh sodium-ion battery production project broke ground in the Gaoshawo Chemical Industrial Park, Yanchi County, Wuzhong City, Ningxia.
It is reported that the project will be constructed in two phases. Phase I involves the construction of workshops, equipment installation, and ancillary facilities for production lines with an annual capacity of 60,000 tons of composite sodium iron phosphate (NFPP) cathode materials and 30,000 tons of bituminous coal-based hard carbon anode materials. Phase II will focus on workshop construction and equipment procurement for a 10GWh cell production line and a PACK assembly line.
Guyi New Energy’s 2.2GWh Solid-State Battery Project Registered
On June 15, the 2.2GWh high-safety solid-state battery industrial construction project of Guyi New Energy (Inner Mongolia) Technology Co., Ltd. was officially approved for registration.
The project has a total investment of 800 million yuan and will build a new 2.2GWh solid-state battery production line and an R&D pilot line. Concurrently, it will complete the construction and renovation of supporting facilities, including production plants, an R&D building, an office building, and warehouses.
Energy Storage System Intelligent Manufacturing Base Project Settles in Liuyang
On June 16, the Liuyang Economic and Technological Development Zone officially signed a project for an energy storage system intelligent manufacturing base for the China region. Funded and constructed by a leading global R&D manufacturer and integrator of residential energy storage systems, the facility's products will be exported to Europe, the Americas, Australia, Africa, and other regions.
With a planned total investment of 5.02 billion yuan, the project is scheduled to be built in phases, aiming for a total capacity of 10GWh for residential and commercial & industrial (C&I) energy storage systems.
Wocheng Energy Storage Zero-Carbon Industrial Park Project Breaks Ground
On June 17, the Hubei Wocheng Energy Storage Zero-Carbon Industrial Park project officially commenced construction. With a total investment of approximately 4 billion yuan, the overall plan features a 40GWh production capacity layout. This includes a self-developed and self-produced 20GWh semi-solid-state cell production line, a 20GWh underground energy storage system integration line, and a 100MW/400MWh underground energy storage power station project.
Among these, Phase II of the industrial park—the cell production area—involves a total investment of 2.261 billion yuan and covers an area of 422 mu (approx. 28.1 hectares). It plans to deploy two 4GWh 314Ah lines and two 6GWh 587Ah large-capacity energy storage cell production lines. It will also be equipped with a 1GWh cell pilot line and a high-end battery technology research institute, creating an integrated closed loop for cell R&D, pilot testing, and mass production.
