According to EnergyTrend, recently seven companies — JA ESS, Trina Solar, Huawei, Saiwei Digital Energy, Midea Hiconics New Energy, Sineng Electric, and NR Electric — have successively announced the latest developments in energy storage order signings, overseas project bids, and grid connection and commissioning of storage projects.
JA Solar Completes First Delivery of PV-ESS Integrated Machine
On July 23, JA ESS announced that its commercial & industrial (C&I) PV-ESS integrated machine JAPlanet Fusion, launched in early June, had been delivered recently.
It is learned that the delivered project is already equipped with a PV system, enabling a full display of power flow among generation, storage, consumption, and the grid. Targeting weak-grid scenarios, the JAPlanet Fusion adopts a DC-coupled architecture. During the day, on-site PV power is prioritized for loads, with surplus electricity stored in the ESS; when sunlight is insufficient or grid fluctuations occur, the storage responds promptly according to actual needs.
This delivery marks an important step for JAPlanet Fusion from R&D and testing to real-world application. Furthermore, JAPlanet Fusion will enter mass production in September this year, transitioning from single-unit pilot applications to scaled deliveries.
Trina Solar Signs C&I Storage Order
On July 24, Trina Solar announced that it had officially signed a storage procurement cooperation agreement with Jiangsu Dingjiu Group recently, securing orders for eight units of its Potentia Blue Ocean 2 bionic liquid-cooled C&I storage cabinets, totaling 2.088 MWh.
The cooperation exclusively features Trina Solar's flagship product, the Potentia Blue Ocean 2 bionic liquid-cooled C&I integrated storage cabinet, which balances safety, returns, O&M, and adaptability, making it suitable for various complex industrial site conditions. Both parties reached a consensus to continue deepening all-round PV-storage ecosystem cooperation and jointly build demonstration projects in the industry.
Huawei Wins Bid for Romania Energy Storage Project
On July 22, Romanian company PPC Renewables România announced that it will build a battery energy storage system alongside its Fântânele Vest wind farm. The new storage project has a scale of 45.72 MW / 91.44 MWh, with a total investment of RON 98.3573 million (approx. €18.7705 million).
The storage equipment was procured through an open tender, which has now been completed. The supplier selected is Huawei Technologies Romania SRL, with a contract value of €11.231 million (approx. RMB 86.72 million) for the equipment, covering the supply of full core battery storage system equipment and supporting technical services.
It is noted that besides Huawei, several other storage companies participated in the bidding, including Sungrow, CATL, Visual Fan, and Prime Batteries Technology.
Saiwei Digital Energy's Dutch Pasture Storage Project Commissioned
On July 24, Saiwei Digital Energy announced that its S2 "Efficiency King" 261 kWh C&I storage cabinets deployed at a large pasture in the Netherlands have been put into operation recently. The project has a total installed capacity of 522 kWh, providing peak-valley arbitrage, emergency backup, and other power support for the pasture.
The S2 "Efficiency King" system features a maximum round-trip efficiency of 92.9% and has obtained international certifications including TÜV Rheinland and CE, meeting European safety standards.
Midea Hiconics New Energy Signs Cooperation Agreement with OSW
On July 23, Hiconics New Energy, under Midea Group's new energy business unit, signed an annual strategic cooperation agreement with One Stop Warehouse Pty Ltd (OSW), a leading Australian residential storage distributor. The two parties further clarified their cooperation, with OSW to act as the distributor for Midea-branded residential storage in the Australian region.
OSW stated that the Midea brand has a strong presence in the Australian market. Hiconics New Energy noted that Midea will leverage OSW's installation network covering all of Australia to rapidly penetrate the end-user market. It is learned that during the meeting, the two sides also conducted preliminary discussions on potential cooperation in certain European markets.
Sineng Electric's Central Asia Storage Project Connected to Grid
On July 23, Sineng Electric announced that the 100 MW / 200 MWh energy storage project in Namangan, Uzbekistan, which it supplied with equipment, was recently connected to the grid and has completed full-site black-start functionality verification.
The project is a key initiative under Uzbekistan's "2030 Strategy" energy transition plan. It adopts a lithium iron phosphate electrochemical storage system, equipped with Sineng Electric's 1250 kW centralized storage PCS, featuring second-generation enhanced hybrid grid-forming technology, building an efficient and reliable full-site energy regulation hub.
NR Electric and Two Other Companies Sign European Storage Plant Cooperation Agreement
On July 23, GreenVoltis announced that it recently held a signing ceremony with China Gas and NR Electric for a strategic cooperation on grid-forming storage power plants across Europe. The three parties will jointly promote grid-forming storage technology and implement high-standard, high-quality grid-forming storage projects throughout Europe.
This cooperation will leverage NR Electric's leading NR-ISGRID storage technology, China Gas's global industrial presence and resource integration capabilities, and GreenVoltis's exclusive Aether AI asset optimization platform and Chronos millisecond-level EMS management system, achieving complementary strengths among the three parties.
