EnergyTrend has learned that on August 12, the Feixi Branch of the Bureau of Ecology and Environment issued an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) public notice, disclosing the acceptance and approval under the notification-commitment system for the Environmental Impact Report Form for Pylontech's 2GWh Energy Storage Battery and System Integration Project.
According to the documents, the entity implementing this project is Anhui Pylon Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a holding subsidiary of Pylontech.
The announcement indicates that the project involves a total investment of 1 billion yuan, with plans to establish an annual production capacity of 2GWh for sodium-ion batteries and energy storage system integration, under an overall construction timeline of two years. The project will construct multiple production workshops, Class-A warehouses, solid waste storage facilities, and other structures, while introducing production equipment and supporting auxiliary systems such as sand mills, mixers, coating machines, and aluminum-shell assembly lines.
EnergyTrend noted that just a week earlier, on August 5, the Feixi County Natural Resources and Planning Bureau released a pre-approval notice for the construction engineering plan of Pylontech's 10GWh Lithium-Ion Battery R&D and Manufacturing Project. This pre-approval announcement simultaneously covered the planning proposals for both plots of land: the 10GWh lithium battery base and the aforementioned 2GWh energy storage battery and integration project.
It is reported that the 10GWh Lithium-Ion Battery R&D and Manufacturing Project represents a total investment of 5 billion yuan and is planned to achieve an annual capacity of 10GWh in energy storage lithium-ion batteries. The project is being implemented in two phases, each with a planned capacity of 5GWh. The two project sites cover a combined land area of approximately 462.65 mu (around 30.8 hectares), with plans to build cell workshops, assembly workshops, an R&D building, dormitories, Class-A warehouses, and other facilities. Among them, Phase I (5GWh production line) has already been commissioned, while Phase II remains under construction.
In addition to battery cell capacity, Pylontech is simultaneously advancing a technological upgrade project for energy storage inverters at its Feixi base. On July 29, the Feixi Branch of the Bureau of Ecology and Environment announced the acceptance and approval results under the notification-commitment system for Anhui Pylon Energy Technology Co., Ltd.'s Environmental Impact Report Form for Pylontech's 120,000-Unit Energy Storage Inverter Production Line Project.
Implemented within existing factory buildings without acquiring new construction land, the project targets an annual output of 120,000 energy storage inverters, covering both residential and commercial/industrial products. The main scope of construction includes processes such as SMT surface mounting, DIP insertion, complete unit assembly, and burn-in testing, with no battery cell manufacturing involved.
