Over 2.3 GWh: Four Firms Including Trina Solar and Sungrow Secure New Overseas Energy Storage Orders

According to EnergyTrend, Trina Storage, Sungrow, Welion New Energy and Natong Energy have recently won successive overseas energystorage orders. Their products will be deployed in markets including Australia, Germany and Hungary, with a combined capacity exceeding 2.3 GWh.

Trina Storage Secures 562 MWh EnergyStorage Project in Australia

On September 17, foreign media reported that Trina Storage was awarded the supply contract for Phase I of the Waroona Renewable Energy Project in Western Australia. The order stands at 81.5 MW/562 MWh.

Located roughly 120 kilometres south of Perth, Phase I of Australia’s Waroona Project integrates a 132 MW photovoltaic power station with an 81.5 MW/562 MWh batteryenergystorage system delivering around 6.9 hours of storage duration. Firstgeneration power generation is scheduled to commence in 2028.

The project will adopt Trina’s Elementa DCcoupled energystorage solution. The agreement also covers a 20year warranty and maintenance service.

Sungrow Signs New 1.6 GWh German EnergyStorage Order

On September 17, Sungrow announced via its Englishlanguage official website that it had signed a framework agreement with be.storaged. The twoyear cooperation targets largescale batteryenergystorage projects with an anticipated volume of 1.6 GWh.

Under the agreement, Sungrow will mainly provide technologies and relevant product solutions, while be.storaged will take charge of project development, procurement, construction, commissioning and operational support. Both parties plan to deploy Sungrow’s PowerTitan 3.0 energystorage system for followup projects.

Welion New Energy Inks Hungarian EnergyStorage Order

On September 19, Welion New Energy announced the formal signing of a framework cooperation agreement for energystorage projects with Hungarian energy firm Szermann Kft, covering a capacity of 150 MWh.

Within the next year, the partners will jointly drive the development and implementation of multiple energystorage projects across Hungary and neighbouring countries. They will pursue indepth collaboration in system integration, project development and market operation, and set up regular communication channels to boost technical exchanges and market synergy.

A delegation from Szermann recently paid a visit to Welion New Energy Group, touring its cell manufacturing base in Zibo, Shandong Province and its energystoragesystem production facility in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province.

Natong Energy Delivers Commercial & Industrial EnergyStorage Systems to Europe

On September 16, Natong Energy held a delivery ceremony for its RENA5000 commercialandindustrial energystorage system at its Guangde factory, marking the successful shipment of a 5 MWh order.

The 5 MWh batch of RENA5000 commercialandindustrial energystorage units represents the first shipment under the contract with the customer. The equipment will be shipped to Europe. Subsequent batches are already in production and will be dispatched gradually over the coming months.
