MAGE POWERTEC PLUS modules generate over 100 kW of clean energy for tire and automotive business; planning extension for further locations
MAGE SOLAR, a turn-key solar PV-system solution provider and Sunquest Solar, an Arizona based integrator are celebrating the completion of the first two photovoltaic systems at Superior Tire Corporation in Northwest Arizona.
The rooftop arrays are the first and second of four solar grid-tied PV-installations that the family owned tire business has decided to realize. The first system is a 53.3 kW array at the company’s Kingman location and has produced well over 80 MWh since its commission last November. A 49.5kW system was just completed at another branch in Fort Mohave. Combined the two solar systems total over 430 high efficiency, maximum performance MAGE POWERTEC PLUS modules and are guaranteed to deliver clean, reliable power over the next thirty years. Once two additional systems at the company’s other locations are completed, Superior Tire will generate 200kW of energy, enough to offset 217 metric tons of CO2 emissions.

The systems were funded in part by a rebate program from the local utilities Unisource and Mohave Electric Company, the 1603 federal grant by the U.S. Department of Treasury as well as a 10% state tax credit for solar installations. The installation in Kingman is also the first one in Mohave County that received a grant from the USDA’s Rural Energy Assistance Program.
