One of US’s Largest PV Projects Built by Cupertino Electric and Amec Foster Wheeler

More than one million PV modules have been installed at Sempra U.S. Gas & Power and Consolidated Edison Development’s 250MW AC Copper Mountain Solar 3 project in Boulder City, Nevada. Working alongside international engineering and project management company Amec Foster Wheeler, the Energy Alternatives Division of Cupertino Electric has completed the installation on the 1,400-acre, fixed tilt, ground-mount project that broke ground in early 2013.

“This is a significant project in the solar market,” said Tom Dodson, vice president, construction for Amec Foster Wheeler. “We are delighted to have partnered with Cupertino Electric to leverage our global design, engineering and project management expertise to jointly deliver this prominent project to Sempra U.S. Gas & Power and Consolidated Edison Development.”

“Having worked with Sempra U.S. Gas & Power previously on its jointly-owned Copper Mountain 2 Solar project as an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) subcontractor, we were pleased to continue our successful run on this latest project,” said John Curcio, chief commercial officer for Cupertino Electric.

In the last few years, Cupertino Electric’s portfolio of utility-scale solar projects has grown exponentially, enhancing their ability to innovate and safely deliver the highest-quality solar projects across the U.S. on schedule. The latest completion with with Sempra U.S. Gas & Power, Consolidated Edison Development and Amec Foster Wheeler marks another milestone for Cupertion Electric’s portfolio as well as their ability for solar project design and construction.
