Yingli Solar singed a solar panel supply agreement with Qingdao New Energy Solutions (NESI) for supplying 130MW of panels. The first 30MW will be delivered in September 2015, and the remaining 100MW of PV modules will be completely delivered by the end of the second quarter of 2016.

NESI provides BIPV and utility-scale solutions for agricultural and industrial uses. It has collaborated with several state-owned banks and other entities to establish China's first agricultural PV project fund. The partnership with Yingli Solar represents the company’s aim to gradually increase its exposure to solar PV assets.

The 130MW of solar panels will be used in utility-scale projects, industrial rooftop systems as well as BIPV agricultural solutions, in Zhejiang, Inner Mongolia, Shandong and other provinces in China. NESI will use more than 500,000 Yingli’s multi-si YGE 60 Cell Series solar panels in total, and these solar panels are expected to generate approximately 150,000MWh of clean electricity annually once operational.

The partnership is believed to drive the adoption of BIPV and agricultural solar applications in China, stated Yingli’s Vice President of Sales, Mr. Gang Wang. “With demand expected to grow in China through the second half of 2015, Yingli is focused on expanding our domestic footprint by strengthening our customer relationships and continuing to supply our high-quality products to this key market,” added Wang.
