TSEC Works with DuPont to Cooperate and Develop Technologies of Solar Module

published: 2017-08-09 11:39

TSEC and DuPont signed the agreement of cooperation of solar module technologies on August 4th. The cooperation covers the testing of solar modules with high effectiveness, high reliability, and durability, and the application of modules in different climate conditions. With high effectiveness, high quality and persistence in the expansion of factory, TSEC actively puts efforts into material selecting, module designing and system safety to create the factory service of high effectiveness, high reliability and high payback.

“DuPont’s effort in solar field is the model of TSEC. From the research of basic material to the five year large-scale research of factory malfunction modes, they have gained impressive knowledge and research methods. They are the best partner of TSEC, and can help TSEC improve module quality and factory service,” stated the chairman of TSEC, Ellick K.J. Liao. “Through the agreement of cooperation of module technologies with DuPont, TSEC will double the service quality between module and factory with reliability, durability, safety and payback,” Liao added.

The vice president of Asia Pacific business of DuPont Shi ming Gao stated: “We are glad to see the cooperation of module with TSEC, and as the leader of solar power industry who provides reliable electric power and lasting value for clients all over the world, we continue to find the solution to make solar module and system safety keep operating over 25 years. Through all kinds of testing and large-scale field research, the only key material for biaxially oriented film is Tedlar PVF, which can overcome time trial and has authentication.”

The cooperation of TSEC and DuPont between module and factory includes the adoption of the newest conductive paste PV20A of DuPont Solamet, which is used in high-performance V-series mono-si PERC module and has reached 21.5% battery efficiency and up to 310W (60 pieces) of the power output. The module will also adopt DuPont’s Tedlar PVF films to specifically be used to resist the challenge of severe climates, such as the factories above water and the corrosiveclimate along the sea.

With the adoption of DuPont’s Tedlar PVF films, it can resist the reflection of high ultraviolet ray, muggy climate and corrosion, and it has great insulation and mechanical balance. When it comes to the island climate of Taiwan, it needs durable material to ensure reliable output. Especially when solar power commonly becomes the target of investment and creative financial product, it relies much on the high effectiveness and reliability of the system to reduce the cost and investment risk.

Currently, the first 2MW solar power factory above water of TSEC in Tainan will completely adopt the Tedlar PVF films from DuPont. Besides, the factory at salt field in the future will also use this high-quality film to make sure the reliability and permanence of the factory.
