HPE announced today that it will partner with National Taiwan University and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology to launch advanced technology research and development cooperation on cloud, IoT, and 5G trends. At the same time, it also signed an industry-university cooperation internship program with the two schools. Internships will take place at the HPE Next-Generation Technology Global Strategy Center, and interns will participate in the R&D projects of internationally renowned software and hardware manufacturers. HPE hopes to use global technical resources to deepen Taiwan's industry-university research and development capabilities, cultivate students' international perspective, allow them to accumulate experience in participating in international projects, and help them develop future employment possibilities.

The rise of the smart application trend not only drives the emerging enterprise applications of cloud services, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and other technologies, but also results in an explosive growth in data volume. Facing this fast-growing data trend, enterprises urgently need to optimize data processing, storage, and application, so that government agencies and manufacturing, retail, medical, financial and other organizations can promote innovation and transformation.

To this end, HPE has introduced global resources, partnered with an academic research team from National Taiwan University, and adopted HPE high-performance computing (HPC) functions, AI deep learning, and the HPE GreenLake Edge-to-Cloud platform to strengthen enterprise data while not affecting performance. This processing ability enables enterprises to respond to business needs in a highly efficient, secure, and agile business environment.

As for the technical cooperation between HPE and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, it focuses on the analysis and innovation of smart industry applications combined with the long-term ability of National Taiwan University of Science and Technology to promote talent innovation. It also responds to the market's emerging applications that emphasize large capacity, low latency, and multiple connections such as 5G and Internet of Vehicles.

At the same time, HPE also plans to sign an industry-university internship program with the two schools, allowing interns to conduct internships in the HPE hardware R&D center for up to 12 months and to work with the HPE R&D design team in the international renowned software factory's R&D projects. Interns will expand their international outlook, validate what has been learned, and accumulate practical experience. Concurrently, there is also an opportunity to apply the content of the internship R&D project to future HPE products and services, promote the growth of Taiwan's new science and technology talent, and maximize the benefits of industry-academia internships and cooperation.

Vice President of HPE Standard Computing System Group’s Taiwan R&D Center, Kuo Sung-hsia, stated that HPE is honored to have the opportunity to introduce global resources to Taiwan and stimulate the infinite possibilities of industry-university cooperation through R&D and internship programs.
