Recently, another two enterprises announced that they have secured orders in Bulgaria, with the total scale of the orders exceeding 1.4GWh.

Sermatec: Secures 430+MWh Energy Storage Project

Recently, Shanghai Sermatec Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has successfully secured a 430+MWh energy storage procurement project in Bulgaria.

As a core participant in this batch of projects, Sermatec will provide solutions covering the entire life cycle of the projects. Through highly modular design, long-life battery technology, and combined with precise charge-discharge interval control, it will ensure that the energy storage system can maintain long-term, stable and high-performance operation even under variable and harsh operating conditions. Moreover, with the precise time-shifting arbitrage mode of "charging during low electricity price periods and discharging during peak electricity price periods", it will help the projects shorten the investment recovery cycle and improve the overall return on investment.

It is learned that this batch of projects will be officially launched in August 2025, completed and delivered by the end of December of the same year, and is expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of March 2026.

In addition, Sermatec is accelerating its global layout. It has established its European headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany, and laid out a manufacturing base with an annual capacity of 3GWh in Malaga, Spain, building a full-value chain capability covering R&D, manufacturing, delivery and services.

Sungrow: Secures Another 1GWh Energy Storage Order

Following the 2.4GWh energy storage order signed with Bulgarian solar PV plant developer SUNOTEC , Sungrow has secured another energy storage system order exceeding 1GWh.

According to SeeNews, Bulgarian solar energy company Sunterra announced that it has signed a cooperation agreement with Sungrow to install over 1GWh of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) at its three photovoltaic power plants.

The specific amount of the transaction has not been disclosed. Emil Shopov, Chief Executive Officer of Sunterra, stated that the agreement with Sungrow constitutes the second phase of Sunterra's plan to expand its energy storage capacity. This agreement is far more than a commercial deal—it is a clear commitment to Bulgaria's energy future.

In addition, Galp announced that it will adopt Sungrow's energy storage system PowerTitan 2.0 to build five BESS projects (totaling 74MW/147MWh) in Spain and Portugal. Among them, four are in Portugal, with a total capacity of 60.5MW/120.4MWh, which will be partially funded by the government's €100 million (US$115.6 million) program; one is in Spain, where a 14MW/28MWh battery energy storage system project will be installed at a solar photovoltaic power plant.
