Ganfeng LiEnergy Intends to Invest 100 Million Yuan to Participate in Establishing a Battery Industry Fund

EnergyTrend has learned that on August 5, Ganfeng Lithium issued an announcement stating that its controlling subsidiary, Ganfeng LiEnergy, will act as a limited partner to participate in investing in Gongqingcheng Ganfeng Tiantai Venture Capital Partnership (Limited Partnership), with a subscribed capital contribution of 100 million yuan.

According to the announcement, the fund is named Gongqingcheng Ganfeng Tiantai Venture Capital Partnership (Limited Partnership), with a total scale of 218 million yuan. Among this, Ganfeng LiEnergy subscribed RMB 100 million, holding a 45.8716% stake in the fund. Inner Mongolia Yitai Coal Co., Ltd. subscribed 50 million yuan, accounting for 22.9358%.

Participants in this fund include executives of the listed company, internal natural persons, and external industrial capital. Notably, several executives, including Li Liangbin, Chairman of Ganfeng Lithium, and Wang Xiaoshen, President of Ganfeng Lithium, participated in the subscription in their personal capacity, constituting a related-party transaction. Among them:

  • Li Liangbin, Chairman of Ganfeng Lithium, subscribed 30 million yuan in his personal capacity, accounting for 13.76%;
  • Wang Xiaoshen, President of Ganfeng Lithium, subscribed 20 million yuan, accounting for 9.17%.

In addition, five natural persons—Teng Ziqi, Ouyang Yuxing, Li Guangmei, Chen Hongxin, and Huang Xiaowei—also participated in the subscription, with a combined subscribed amount of 14 million yuan.

As for the general partners, Xiamen Falcon Investment Management Co., Ltd. and Xinyu Yulin New Energy Management Center (Limited Partnership) each subscribed 2 million yuan, of which Xinyu Yulin New Energy Management Center is an affiliated entity of Li Chenglin, a director of the company.

The partnership intends to focus on Ganfeng LiEnergy's main business and future strategic layout, investing primarily in high-quality projects related to synergy with the lithium battery industrial chain, next-generation battery technologies, and frontier technology applications.

In terms of term settings, the registered partnership term in the industrial and commercial registration is 30 years, while the actual operating term of the fund is 7 years, calculated from the date when the private equity fund filing is completed, including a 3-year investment period and a 4-year recovery period.
