Nanya Joins Hands with 7-11 to Promote PET Bottle Recycling and Crushing through Polyester Recycling Technology

Nanya announced today that the company would be joining hands with President Packaging and President Chain Store Corporation under Uni-President in establishing a “bottle to bottle” PET bottle recycling system in Central and Southern Taiwan, as well as outlying islands. PET bottles are recycled and crushed from the circulating economic resources recyclers installed at 7-11s, before being reborn as new PET bottles through Nanya’s advanced polyester recycling technology, thus achieving a green and renewable circulating supply chain. ...  more

German equipment provider Manz AG announced that it has stopped further development of its CIGS thin-film PV technology and will terminate its involvement in the wider PV market because it has been unable to obtain outstanding payments from its Chinese partner Chongqing Shenhua Thin Film Solar Technology Co. Ltd. Manz will be writing off EUR 23.3 million (USD 23.6 million) after failing to reach an agreement with Shenhua. ...  more

LKAS for Localized Electric Buses; ITRI Joins Hands with tron-e for Smart Transportation

ITRI announced today to be working with electric bus manufacturer tron-e on researching and developing the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) for local buses. This locally developed system can operate at a speed of 30-90km/h, and automatically signals an alert when the driver has not turned on the direction signal, or when the vehicle drifts off from the lane, before intervening to correct the driving trajectory.
