Polysilicon prices stopped falling, and more than half of the companies overhauled production lines

Polysilicon prices remained stable this week. Among them, the transaction price range of n-type rod silicon was 40,000-45,000 yuan/ton, and the average transaction price was 43,000 yuan/ton, which was flat month-on-month. The transaction price range of P-type dense polysilicon was 34,000-39,000 yuan/ton, and the average transaction price was 37,300 yuan/ton, which was flat month-on-month. The price spread of n/p rod silicon was 4,400 yuan/ton. The transaction price range of n-type granular silicon was 37,000-39,000 yuan/ton, and the average transaction price was 37,500 yuan/ton, which was flat month-on-month. Both the high and low prices of this transaction has been adjusted. However, due to the extremely small trading orders, the weighted average price has not changed.

Two companies have deals in the N-type rod silicon and two companies in the p-type rod silicon. In the last week, the new polysilicon orders has been relatively limited, and most of them are the execution of pre-orders. There has been no large-scale price reduction for new signing of new orders. At present, polysilicon companies have no incentive to sign orders. Although wafer companies’ profits cannot be restored in the short term, and wafer storage will still need time to be absorbed, wafer prices are expected to stabilize after polysilicon prices stabilize. In addition, the price of industrial silicon futures has risen recently, and the production cost of polysilicon may rise, thus major polysilicon manufacturers are more willing to raise prices. At present, more than half of the leading enterprises have maintenance plans. There were no new projects this week, but more companies have scheduled to overhauled production lines. It is expected that the supply of polysilicon will be further reduced, and the mainstream transaction price of polysilicon is expected to stabilize.

As of this week, there are a total of 17 domestic polysilicon production enterprises, and the number of maintenance enterprises remains at 5. In April 2024, the import volume of polysilicon was 3,668 tons, down 23.48% month-on-month, and the export volume of polysilicon was 1,980 tons, up 17.22% month-on-month.
