AWS Truepower has provided EDP Renewables with independent engineering services to support the financing of its Lone Valley Solar Park project. The Lone Valley project is located in the western Mohave Desert, in San Bernardino County, California and consists of two adjacent solar farms with a combined AC capacity of 30 MW, enough to power 7,000 average American homes with clean energy. The project closed tax equity financing in December 2014.

AWS Truepower's full suite of IE services included energy projections, design and technology assessments, review of all commercial contracts, curtailment analyses, verification of environmental and permitting requirements satisfaction, financial model review, and construction monitoring.

Lone Valley is EDP Renewables' first solar project in North America. The combined projects' 30 MW-AC of PV solar panels mounted on single-axis tracking systems will provide over 80,000 MWh of clean energy annually. This clean energy source will prevent 55,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere every year, equivalent to removing 11,000 cars from the road annually.

"This is a landmark project for EDP Renewables and AWS Truepower," said Craig Moller, Director of Due Diligence at AWS Truepower. "It's great to see this project placed in service and we are proud to have been a part of it."

"AWS Truepower provided timely delivery of independent engineering and due diligence services to support the requirements of our financing and power purchase counterparties," said Milap Shah, Director of Engineering at EDP Renewables North America.
